Avoir faim / Avoir soif
In French, you use the verb avoir in order to convey hunger and thirst:
J'ai faim (= I'd like to eat / I'm hungry), tu as soif (= you'd like to drink / you're thirsty).

Est-ce que vous avez faim ? J'ai du poulet dans le frigo.

Il y a / il n'y a pas
To indicate that a person or thing exists, you use il y a + noun.
Examples:

Il y a du pain et des œufs sur la table. Il y a aussi une bouteille de jus d'orange.

Il n'y a pas de pain aujourd'hui !
