“When I was in Floyd’s gym, we used to spar everybody. So he’s seen me put people out, he’s seen me beat the hell out of people. So when we sparred, me being me, I rushed him cos I knew he was scared, and I didn’t want to get caught with his best punch; his left hand,” Davis said via talkSPORT.

“And once he caught me with his left hand, that’s when I got mad. I caught him, and then he started grabbing me after that, and I jumped on him, and it turned into like a wrestling match.”
"But there were some things that he said that was all cap [lies]. There were things he was saying, just to say," Martinresponded. "When I sparred him, a lot of people were there in the gym. He got in there and wanted to play. I hit him with the brick hand. Boom, he felt it. He ain’t calling it the brick hand for no reason.
"They kept coming in and having to break it up. He kept trying to put me in a headlock. We was just trying to hurt each other.”

A bout againstCanelo Alvarez failed to materialize, which has forced Benavidez to move up in weight.

Gvozdyk (20-1) is a former WBC light heavyweight champion. Afterlosing a unification fight against Artur Beterbviev, the 2012 Olympic bronze medalist took three years out of the ring. He returned to action last year and has won three straight, with two wins coming by knockout.

Russell (17-0) is the younger brother of Gary Russell Jr. The 27-year-old has won all of his fights via knockout.
Puello (22-0) is a former interim WBA super lightweight champion and won the full version of the title in 2022. Last year, Puello was named "champion in recess" after failing a drug test and this will be his second fight since.

Adames (23-1) is a former NABF super welterweight champion who won interim WBC gold in 2022. On a five-fight win streak, the 30-year-old was elevated to full-time champion after Jermall Charlo was stripped of the belt.

Gausha (24-3-1) has fought for gold before, losing against Erislandy Lara in 2017 for the WBA super welterweight title. The USA National and National Championships winner is 2-1 in his last three contests and is on a two-fight win streak.
