How much does a concierge key cost? ›

American Airlines' Concierge Key is an elite status program for top-tier customers who spend at least $50,000 a year and fly over 200,000 miles (though these aren't hard-and-fast requirements).

Boarding. We welcome active duty military with ID to board the plane in Group 1 along with our customers in First.

American Airlines understandably hasn't revealed how many Concierge Key members there are, so the best we can do is speculate. If I had to guess, I'd say there are somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000 Concierge Key members. To be more exact, my assumption is that the number is roughly in the middle of that range.

Group 5 is not priority boarding on American Airlines, but Preferred boarding. This group includes passengers that pay for Main Cabin Extra perks, as well as those who hold co-branded AAdvantage airline credit cards.

American Airlinescharges a $75 fee for same-day standby tickets but waives the fee for military personnel, first-class, business class, and AAdvantage Elite members.

American Airlines Platinum Pro benefits

Preferred seats are toward the front of the plane in economy but generally don't include the free drinks or added legroom. Priority boarding: Board an American Airlines aircraft in Group 2. Priority lanes: Use priority check-in and security lanes at the airport.

Group 6: General AAdvantage status holders. Group 7/8: Main cabin fare passengers and Basic Economy passengers from Europe, Asia, or South America (Group 8) Group 9: Basic economy passengers on domestic, North American, Central American, and Caribbean flights.

Information for senior travelers

Early boarding is available if you need more time or assistance boarding. You must identify yourself to the gate agent to request early boarding. Wheelchair assistance is available to help with long distances at the airport.

Benefits include: Unlimited complimentary upgrades within North America (including award tickets). Complimentary Main Cabin Extra. Complimentary Preferred seats.

Hourly Rate. Many personal concierge businesses offer membership models, where clients pay a recurring fee for access to a suite of services. Alternatively, some personal concierges charge an hourly rate, typically ranging from $30 to $75, depending on the region and the nature of the tasks.

Historically it might take around $60,000 in spend mostly on premium cabin tickets to qualify for ConciergeKey status, although that's never guaranteed (and seems to be the case that customers in smaller markets may not have to spend as much as someone based in, say, Dallas).

If you're trying to attain ConciergeKey as a regular traveler, you're likely looking at spending north of $50,000 and flying more than 200,000 miles annually.
