❗️NEW VIDEO❗️This weeks video is another ramble from me, this time all about work experience!I go over why work experience is important (for you and the employer), how you can potentially find some work experience, and some tips to consider and think about when going through this process. It seems anyone that is currently working in sports had to undertake some form of work experience at the start of their journey and so it really is something you should take seriously if you are looking to forge a career in sports. I still remember my first day of work experience. You can learn and practice all you want but it’s a whole different ball game when you are in and around your colleagues and playing staff for the first time. Also, it is still showing that over 70% of views that I am receiving are from people that are not yet subscribed. With that in mind, if you do watch any of my videos, just hit that little subscribe button. It’s not too hard is it? Thanks!Enjoy, check out some other vids while you are there and have a great bank holiday weekend! ☀️#workinsports #sportsjobs #footballjobs #workexperience #intern #sportscience #coaching #sportspodcast

How can you avoid having this happen to you?Get really clear on your priorities, values and requirements- in your life, as well as in your work- and make sure the passion job corresponds. Then research what the job really involves- the downs as well as the ups- andfind ways to prototype it - do an internship, talk to several people in the business, talk to people who've left, do it on the side.

"𝐌𝐲 𝐣𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲 𝐭𝐨𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐣𝐨𝐛"🚀Hello, LinkedIn family! 👋As an international student in Australia, navigating life without a stable job felt like playing life in hard mode. Especially in Sydney, known for its high living costs, the challenge is real. 💸🏙️The fact of the 𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘬𝘦𝘵 is that jobs here in Australia work on references, making it tough for newcomers like me to get a foot in the door. 🚪🤔 But guess what? After two months of relentless effort, I landed my first part-time job at Woolworths Supermarkets, one of Australia's leading retail chains, as a Team Member! 🎉 Though I joined the party late, I made quite the entrance. This job holds a special place in my heart for several reasons, most importantly because of its nature being in retail. Retail jobs teach you a lot about the local lingo, culture, and daily interactions. 🛒🗣️Moreover, retail organisations always have member-exclusive discounts, so when I got my job - my roommates were very happy because now we could save on groceries. 🥳🍏And so, here's my tip for fellow international students: In your first semester, try to secure a job in retail. It gives you a platform to adapt to a new country. You'll meet people of all ages, building a vast network while juggling your studies. 🌍📚And here's the cherry on top: Large retail organisations always have an IT department. Being part of the organisation already gives you an edge for any IT roles aligning with your skills or interests. 🖥️Lastly, while I did commit to posting daily in my last post, I realised it was a bit ambitious given my schedule. But I promise to stay active and share more insights on LinkedIn. Stay tuned!🌟📝

How you'll land your dream internship before starting universityI grabbed a list of top brokers in New York city and worked my way up the list. I first looked at their most recent publications, wrote a cold email saying how impressed I was by their work and how I could help them. People overthink their emails, and now most emails are automated. You have to sound conversational, be short, and be straight to the point (the point is to prove you're human and you went out of your way to be complimentary). Attach some previous work/example so it's easy for them to make a decision. The point of working my way up the list was testing out scripts. By the time I got to the top of the "top 100 brokers in New York city" list, I had tested at-least 10 different variations of my cold email, and knew what would hook a response.Keep hunting, if you need help with content, websites, or UI private message me. We're cooking 🔋
